Logistics.

While only a few days have passed since Mikael's passing it feels like a lifetime ago, yet also it still doesn't feel real.

It is an intense struggle of coming to terms yet also attempting to keep Mike alive in some way - not being ready to let go of him here on earth. I know for myself at this point it is beyond surreal; it almost feels as if a part of my brain has shut down in attempts to stay focused with the tasks ahead.

Never in a million years would I think that at 24 I would be planning my brother's funeral.

But here I am and here we are doing the best we can.

We are in the process of getting Mikael's obituary printed in the newspaper as well as getting it online, in the meantime I figured I would put it here - especially for those wanting to know when the funeral is.

Thank you to all who have continued to pray for us during this process.

One thing is for sure, for as much as this week is one of being in 'auto-pilot', without having faith, trust in God and knowing the promise of Him being a Good Father, this would be so incredibly more difficult.

It is definitely His love, His grace, and His comfort carrying us through; and the prayers of so many for our family.

LEHMANN, Mikael Richard

February 9, 1987 - February 9, 2018

On the evening of his 31st birthday, Mikael lost his battle with cancer. He fought courageously and with much strength, humility, and hope. His loving family and dear friends were by his side.  Mikael took his last breath on earth and his first breath in the arms of his heavenly Father, Saviour and Friend whom he loved “utterly and completely”.

Mikael had a heart for adventure and loved to explore the world with his Jolene, Brielle and Eden. He was a gifted athlete, artist, writer, Journeyman Plumber, missionary, Masters in Counselling and Elder of Lifespring Church; to only list a few. Mikael was a loving husband and father; son, brother, and friend to many…all around the world.

Mikael will be greatly missed by his wife Jolene; daughters, Brielle and Eden; his parents, Rick and Marietta; siblings, Marek (Kendra and children), and Marisa. He is also survived by numerous extended family dear to his heart. Mikael has touched countless lives and made an impact that will continue in the hearts and minds of all who loved him.

The Lehmann family would like to extend thanks to all who have walked with us through this journey. The many prayers, words of love and acts of kindness were deeply felt. A special thank you to the caring staff at the Grey Nuns, Unit 43.

A celebration of life will be held at Sherwood Park Alliance Church, 1011 Cloverbar Road, Sherwood Park on Sunday, February 18th at 3pm. A private family interment will be held on Saturday, February 17th. The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Mikael Lehmann’s “You Caring Fund” which can be found at thefightformike.com or donation envelopes will be provided at the memorial service.
